A subalpine meadow at 7000 feet elevation is ablaze with color. Arnica and paintbrush bloom under the spires of subalpine firs and Engelmann spruces in Preston Park.

Bog orchids and paintbrushes (above) grow by a small waterfall, and monkeyflower breaks through the thicket of plants along the trails (left).
